If anyone can name an English Literature master from the school in the period 1939-1946, please could they get in touch by email, or by commenting on this post? We have had an enquiry from an Old Boy of the era.

I was a pupil at the school 1937-1941) as a scholarship boy, I had to leave after the School Certificate exams; I had three weeks in the 6th form, then the scholarship expired. During my time the Senior English master was “Buck” (after the hero of a B-picture space travel serial) Rogers. The Assistant English master was Herbert Wiseman — a handsome man, he strongly resembled a then notable actor, Barry K. Barnes (and, I believe, acted in Bournemouth Little Theatre productions).
Many thanks Dennis, I shall pass this on.
I was a pupil from 1954 to 1960 and remember ‘Herbie’ Wiseman then – a perfect Gent.
